Emotional eating is not about food. We have certainly been taught that food is the problem, however, food is just a symptom of the problem.
Noticing what feelings arise when a bag of chips has been eaten or you find yourself at the fridge for the 5th time that night goes a long way to understanding your triggers and moving towards releasing emotional eating and any negative relationship you have with food.
Knowing there are no good and bad foods, there is no judgement and no issue with willpower will set you free from the negative talk so often sold to us around emotional eating.
